Springfield Foursome Caught Trafficking More Than 1,000 Grams Of Cocaine

Four men from Springfield were arrested for trafficking more than 1,000 grams of cocaine among other illegal substances, authorities said.

Miguel Rodriguez, Ricardo Collazo and Juan Santana were arrested around 7:50 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, Springfield Police report. 

Springfield DEA members were conducting surveillance at a home on the 400 block of Walnut Street when they stopped a car with all three men inside, police said. During their arrest, officers also seized about 1,052 grams of cocaine. 

A subsequent search of the same home uncovered more crack-cocaine, heroin and over $3,300 in cash, police said. As a result, a fourth man named Carmen Melendez was arrested as well. 

Rodriguez, Collazo and Santana were all charged with one count of trafficking 200 grams or more in cocaine, according to police. Meanwhile Melendez was charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class A and Class B drug.
